Japanese Tiles Munich

Where Japanese Tiles Meet München Architecture

Makani Collective brings handcrafted Japanese ceramic tiles to München - pieces shaped by time, process, and material. Each tile is produced using centuries-old techniques in small kilns across Japan, selected for their controlled surface and quiet finish.

Our collection aligns with München’s architectural language, where precision meets warmth, and structure is softened through material. Whether installed in an Altbau apartment, a contemporary bathroom, or a gallery-like kitchen, our Japanese tiles introduce a composed surface that holds the space without dominating it.

With a focus on craftsmanship and consistency, we offer hand-selected Japanese ceramic wall and floor tiles designed to work across larger areas. A restrained palette and considered finishes allow the material to integrate naturally into residential, hospitality, and commercial projects.

Whether you are an interior designer, architect, or private client, explore our curated collection and request samples directly from Makani Collective, with delivery across Germany.

CUSTOM TSUKI DRIFT Tiles

Seamless Japanese tile surfaces

In most interiors, materials are told where to end. This project explores what happens when they don’t.

Handcrafted Japanese ceramic tiles move seamlessly from wall to furniture to floor. Corners are wrapped, benches are formed, and surfaces flow continuously, dissolving the boundary between architecture and furniture. The result is a space that feels composed rather than assembled.

Large, uninterrupted tiled surfaces remain calm, even as they extend across bathroom walls, floors and integrated seating. The glaze shifts subtly with light, introducing softness into a highly controlled geometry.

Custom corner pieces remove hard breaks in the surface, allowing the tiles to turn cleanly while maintaining rhythm and proportion. Transitions become fluid rather than segmented, reinforcing the continuity of the space.

Makani Collective works with bespoke ceramic tile development, custom tile detailing, and architectural tile solutions. From concept through execution, the focus is on precision, flexibility, and material clarity.

Rooted in collaboration with Japanese tile makers, each solution is developed through a balance of craft, discipline, and architectural thinking.
